Belarusian thinking is the nation’s self-understanding, ways of understanding its nature and purpose, search for identity at the crossroads of cultural influences and traditions.
Over the last year we saw a series of events that have been publicly and widely representing Belarusian thinking as a part of our culture and identity. This is the company "Quote Your Own!", publication of the anthology of Belarusian thinking "The Code of Presence", the announcement of the essay competition "Intellectual heritage of Belarus: personas, ideas, and contexts."
"A Week of Belarusian Thinking" aims at presenting a variety of forms and manifestations of Belarusian thinking in the modern Belarusian society, inclusion of intellectual achievements in contemporary culture and identity, as well as the development of the relations between the intellectual community with other actors in a broad public process.
The organizers invite to celebrate the presence and the importance of thinking for the Belarusian society with a series of events for the general public and the media. We invite non-governmental organizations, research and cultural communities and initiatives, business organizations, intellectuals and experts to participate in the development and implementation of the activities during the Week.
The format of the event within the Week
The goal of the Week is to present a variety of forms of and the language of thinking: monologues about the eternal or topical issues, dialogues and discussions, master classes, presentations of the latest developments and other creative forms.
Topics of events of the Week:
The personas of the Belarusian thinking, contemporaries and ancestors, teachers, students and successors;
Topical ideas and problems presented as thinking here and now;
Thinking in very different spheres and fields: education, economy, politics, business, culture, technology, ecology, etc;.
Various forms and "technologies" of thinking;
The history of ideas and events in the Belarusian thinking;
Reflection of history and modernity;
