Holidays of the Belarusian dictator in Kopaonik have ended, but Serbian
media continue criticizing his advice on how to tackle the crisis.
Economic observer of B92 radio and TV station Misa Brkic notes in his comment “Isolation Model”
that “it was very strange to see Lukashenka among business elite and
politicians at the forum in Kopaonik,” Radio Svaboda reports.
“He,
Lukashenka, was a gust at an important meeting where an issue of
tackling the crisis in Serbia was discussed,” Brkic goes on. “It
wouldn’t have been bad except for the next detail...”
In
particular, “if on the day of his departure, the guest hadn’t begun to
give advice on how Serbia should overcome the crisis and had set his
isolated country as an example,” moreover, he should have been taken
into account that “everyone at the forum in Kopaonik is a good
economist and has a clear idea of employment in Europe.”
“Though Lukashenka reported about great success, Belarusian economy before crisis wasn’t so good,” the journalist goes on.
“What
about popularity of Serbian products at the markets of Russia, Belarus,
and Ukraine, it is lies,” Brkic thinks. “There’s a lack of it
(popularity – note of Charter’97) in Serbia, not speaking about
deliveries to the Russian and Belarusians markets. Year’s export from
Serbia would be enough for the Moscow market only for a week.”
“This Russian export is absolute absurd,” the Serbian observer of B92 concludes.
It should be reminded that Lukashenka made some statements during his vacations in Serbia.
“I
think that businessmen of former Yugoslavia are trying to gain the
eastern market – Belarus, Russia, other post-Soviet republics. I’d like
to suggest your businessmen to create a kind of a business council,
which will consist of leading Serbian businessmen. These businessmen,
who want to work in Belarus, Ukraine, Russia, and at other eastern
markets,” he said at the airport in Nis.
Besides,
Lukashenka said Belarus was ready to help Serbia in modernizing of
electric power industry and machine building industry.
“We
have good experience in modernizing and building power engineering and
machinery construction facilities. If we can help Serbia in something,
and we can, we will do it. Come and say how we can help you,” the
Belarusian ruler said.
Lukashenka notes there
were some problems in Belarus, but, according to him, “we want to solve
these problems by own forces, we don’t count on anyone, and we have
already solved many of them”. According to him, it was difficult due to
“the independent political course of Belarus and the political course
that has bee carried out by Europe until recently, and is still carried
out by the US”.
