Sanctions against Belarusian Officials Entered into Force (EU List)

The EU new package of sanctions against the Belarusian officials, including President Alexander Lukashenko, entered into force on Wednesday, February 2. The list of Belarusian officials, as well as sanctions, applied to them, were published as a legal document in Legal Internet Portal of the European Union (Official Journal of the European Union online) in the morning.

 

The EU decided to freeze all assets and economic resources (both  personal belongings and those under management or control) of 157 representatives of the Belarusian authorities on the list. Visa sanctions were applied to 158 officials. Former Interior Minister and former Minister of sports and tourism of Belarus, Yuri Sivakov, accused by the EU of laundering money for the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, did not get under the economic sanctions.

The EU froze the assets of the following representatives of the Belarusian authorities:
