All sorts of accusations aimed at “Tell the Truth!” civil campaign are related to the fact that it may become one of the pillars in the process of consolidation around the common opposition candidate.
This opinion was stated by the coordinator of the campaign, Aliaksandr Fiaduta in his interview with the “EuroBelarus” information service, commenting upon the accusations of receiving financial supportfrom the West expressed towards “Tell the Truth!” campaign by Zianon Pazniak, the leader of TheConservative Christian Party of the BPF.
“They had better decide altogether to which forces we are at last related to – to Moscow or to the West?” – wondered Aliaksandr Fiaduta.
He believes that another accusation is connected with the fact that “Tell the Truth!” civil campaign is trying to act as an attraction center for those who are going to continue their work in the country and for their collaboration with Belarusan civil society.”
“The most important is that we are ready to start working on the nomination of the common candidate. And it’s rather important, as it is stated not only by our leader Uladzimir Niakliayeu, but also by Aliaksandr Milinkevich and Uladzimir Matskevich, by political scientists Alexander Klaskovsky and Valery Karablevich.Nevertheless, this idea is recurred to social agenda. And we are attacked because our campaign can become one of the fundamental parts of this process”, – the representative of “Tell the Truth!” believes.
“They would indeed eagerly attack others, but those others frequently remain unnoticed or they pretend to never notice them. And when you are attacking the strongest one, it seems that everyone draws some conclusions”,—noted the interlocutor of EuroBelarus.
He believes that Zianon Pazniak’s point of view in today’s Belarus “is in demand with two marginal groups”: “The first are those who can’t see or listen to anybody except Pazniak, who won’t pay heed to any arguments. And the second marginal group is made up by ideologists of the dictatorial regime, who are convinced that the more the opposition will discredit itself, the easier it will be for our regime to resolve economic problems. In reality, it is obvious that there will be nothing of that kind. But still, both of them cherish their hopes.”
In the statement of the leader of theCCP BPF Fiaduta was outraged by the fact that “the man, who is talking how odious Stalinists are, at the same time is guided by the things that were completely indisputable for Stalin and his security officers – by evidence received in KGB.” “Mind your speech! You are supposed to be anti-Stalinist! He went over the limits…” – said the coordinator of “Tell the Truth!”
Speaking about the proper reaction on the accusations of receiving financial support from abroad, Fiaduta noted the following: “In such cases I am used to saying: “Gentlemen, if you have an opportunity to bring fiscal police with you, then do it and we will sort things out!”
“Recently I have gone to the tax inspectorate, paid a fine for three years at the rate of 500 thousand Belarusan rubles, while the fine for delay made up 42 million Belarusan rubles. Can you imagine what a terrible tax evader I am, and how much discrediting evidence about mecan be collected, if,judging by the “Soviet Belasus” newspaper charges that were broughtin the January of 2011 I was responsible for millions and millions of dollars?” – noted Aliaksandr Fiaduta.
On the whole, he believes that one should not pay any attention to the accusers.
