Belarusan delegation visited New York where the Session of the UN Commission for Social Development took place. The Session focused on the implementation of UN programs for different social groups.
According to the press office of the Belarusan Foreign Ministry, the session was held between February, 6 and February, 15. The Belarusan delegation was headed by Yury Ambrazevich, a departmental head at the foreign ministry.
During the session Yury Ambrazevich told the participants the “priorities of the government’s youth policy in Belarus, which included the raising of the educational level of youths, the prevention of unemployment among youths, the patriotic education of young citizens, the raising of their legal and political awareness, encouragement to responsibly and actively participate in the country's life, support of positive initiatives from young people, the promotion of healthy lifestyles, the strengthening of young people's health, the improvement of the system of social protection and support of young families”.
He said Belarus would likely face economic tightening not only as a result of the coronavirus pandemic but also a Russian trade oil crisis that worsened this past winter.
