Earlier information appeared in the Internet that KGB is spreading a warning about the danger that of being recruited by terrorists, who are fighting in Ukraine.
The Committee for State Security (KGB) has not issued any warnings over the “recruitment of citizens of Belarus by Ukrainian separatists”.
“The KGB views any information to the contrary as false and has nothing to do with it,” KGB spokesman Artur Strekh told BelaPAN.
On August 17, Russian news website gazeta.ru reported that the KGB had warned the Belarusians through the media and social networking websites about the danger of being recruited by representatives of “Ukrainian separatists”.
The KGB warned that mercenary service carries between three and seven years in prison under the Belarusian Criminal Code, the report said.
According to gazeta.ru, a source in Belarus’ Security Council confirmed to its correspondent that there had been attempts to hire Belarusians to fight in Ukraine
