On November 24 – 25, 2014 in Brussels (Belgium) the second round of negotiations on the conclusion by the Republic of Belarus and the European Union of the agreements on the simplification of visa procedures and readmission was held.
The Belarusan delegation included the representatives of the consular department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Department of Citizenship and Migration of the Ministry of Interior, the EU delegation included the representatives of Directorate-General for Home Affairs of the European Commission.
According to the webpage of the Belarusan Foreign Ministry, delegations continued to work on the draft agreements, taking into account the amendments and comments offered by the parties following the results of the first round held in Minsk on June 12 – 13 2014.
It is planned that the third round of talks will be held in Minsk in the beginning of 2015.
Meanwhile, Poland has made it easier to get Schengen visas for Belarusan citizens. As Euroradio informs, Poland cancels "visa regionalization" for Belarusans, which means that now Belarus citizens will be allowed to apply for Poland visa at any consular point regardless of residence location, effective from 1 December.
According to the website of the Polish Embassy in Minsk, "from 1 December, 2014 consular offices of the Republic of Poland in Belarus will accept and consider visa applications of Belarus citizens without any restrictions associated with the territory division into the consular districts".
It means that the citizens of Belarus will be able to apply for a visa at any regional office of the Polish consulate in our country.
