The head of Belarusan decided to stay at home and sent the Foreign Minister to the Eastern Partnershp Summit instead.

"Foreign Minister Uladzimir Makei will represent Belarus at the Eastern Partnership summit in Riga,” – informed Euroradio Belarusan MFA press secretary Dzmitry Mironchyk

The EaP summit is held in Riga on May 21-22. Uladzimir Makei also represented Belarus at the EaP summit in the autumn of 2013.

As “EuroBelarus” Information Service has already informed, President Serzh Sargsyan will represent Armenia, President Ilham Aliyev – Azerbaijan, President Petro Poroshenko – Ukraine, President Nicolae Timofti – Moldova and PM Irakli Garibashvili – Georgia.

The visa regime facilitation agreement for Belarus and the EU will not be initialed in Riga, Latvia MFA press secretary Andreis Pildegovics told journalists. The document will be discussed and signed in mid-June (by the end of Latvia’s presidency in the EU).
