Last week representatives of Belarusan opposition met with the German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

“That was a short meeting after which she made a group photo with the Belarusian delegation. We thanked the leader of Europe for her consistent and principled position in defending values. Our joint message was not to forget about Belarus”, - the United Civil Party leader Anatoly Liabedzka said.

According to the politicians, Angela Merkel said that she would do her best.

Anatoly Liabedzka also said the delegation held about a dozen meetings and negotiations with members of the Bundestag and the representatives of nongovernmental organizations, the press service of UCP party informs.

“A great virtue is that we have common position. This strengthens the message”, – the UCP leader added.
