The Association of Local Democracy Agencies (ALDA) is an international non-governmental organization active in the fields of Good Governance and Citizens’ participation and operates in the European Union member States and ENPI countries, with its network of 13 Local Democracy Agencies (LDAs). ALDA is looking for a EU Policy Officer and support to programme in the Neighbourhood:
a) Liaise with the European institutions and in particular with European Commission as for Enlargement and Neighbourhood countries
b) Elaborate policies relevant to the topics of the organization, in order to better orient the work of the organization in the project drafting and make relevant its activities among the different platform we are involved in
c) Possible assistance in drafting relevant projects and implementation of activities in Neighbourhood countries
Selection procedure

Working conditions

Profile/competences:
• Education at the university level or Master
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in the NGO sector
• High motivation
• Autonomy, initiative, flexibility
• Team spirit
• Languages: Excellent English and French,, knowledge of Serbo-Croat or Russian is an asset
• Experience in policy formulation and knowledge of the functioning of the EU institutions
• Knowledge the Balkans and Neighbourhood Countries
• Experience in project drafting and project management is an asset.
• Knowledge of basic computer tools: Internet, Word, Excel
• Availability to travel
• Demonstrable international experience through study or work outside of her/his country of origin.
Activities/Responsibilities:
1. Liaise with and support all the contacts that ALDA has with the European Union Institutions and develop further contacts, including with the international community present in Brussels.
2. Lobby for the issues promoted by ALDA in the EU institutions and platforms.
3. Elaborate policies related to ALDA’s mandate and work in order to promote the work of ALDA and the LDAs vis-a-vis decision making platforms and networks.
4. Help enlarge the network of partners and members of ALDA at the European level
5. Inform the members and partners of ALDA of the main issues of ALDA as to EU policies
6. Elaborate possible project proposals together with the ALDA staff and in some cases, if relevant and appropriate, take part in the implementation.
