The 7th International MediaBarCamp 2014 on the use of new online media opportunities and media activism development will take place on 1-4 May, 2014 in Lithuania.
The organiser of the event is Swedish International Liberal Centre (SILC).
The main GOAL of the MediaBarCamp 2014 is to share experience of internet use in different forms of social-cultural projects. Presentations and work-groups will be arranged where all activists (media, civil, political etc.) аre invited to present their own online activities. In addition to this, we will encourage you to learn from each other’s experiences with website funding topics (self-funding, external funding, crowd-funding, etc.).
Three main questions to be discussed during the MediaBarCamp 2014
1. Legendary Belarus web-projects that have survived and continue to live. How to make a project not for one day, but for a permanent work?
2. Has everything been thought out and done? Or what can and should be done for the next 20 years? What projects will be needed tomorrow and how to learn about them today?
3. Advertising on the Internet over the last 20 years: what has changed for local sites? Why should we cooperate with advertising agencies?
Target groups
Owners, web editors, news editors (not just a technical administrator but the person responsible for the content and structure of the site). Collective online projects with a small editorial office.
Representatives of the socio-cultural projects that use social media as a channel of communication with their audience
Media activists who use the Internet to spread their ideas
Political activists who use social media to spread their ideas
