International Consortium “EuroBelarus” invites activists and leaders of Belarusan non-state civic organizations, initiatives, and projects to take part in the expert seminar.
The topic of the seminar is “Advocacy and influence on decision-making in the work of civic actors: in search for effectiveness”.
The seminar will take place on December 4-5, 2015 in Minsk.
The main aspects that are planned to touch upon within the frames of the seminar:
Social capital of an organization – understanding and possibilities for growth;
Advocacy as a technology of promoting civic interests;
Means and restrictions of advocating civic action in Belarusan situation;
What, how, and why can civic actors achieve by influencing sectoral policies (social, educational, ecological, and others)?;
Informational area as a potential for expanding possibilities of influence and entry to broad target groups.
Within the frames of the seminar expert meetings and discussions with the famous representatives of the civic sector in Belarus will be organized, discussion of concrete examples of advocacy and policy-oriented activity, elaboration of long-term plans for improving CSOs on the above-mentioned directions.
The number of places is limited. Organizers are providing main expenses for organizing the event (accommodation, food, transportation).
