Uladzimir Prakaptzou, the director of the National Art Museum of Belarus, is willing to “collect all the Radziwiłłs together”.
The purchase of the portraits of the famous family or any Radziwiłł’s artifacts is not at stake. As Uladzimir Prakaptzou explained to the EuroBelarus Information Service, the exhibition “The portraits of rulers and magnates of the Grand Dutchy of Lithuania” that opened on May 8 demonstrated that it is quite feasible to bring in Minsk the art-collections that do not belong to our country, but are devoted to the events or the people of the former integrated country. The thing is that the exposition “The portraits of rulers and magnates of the Grand Dutchy of Lithuania" has united the displays from the museums of Lvov and Lutsk. Besides, during the preparation procedures it was suggested to enrich the exposition with 12 more portraits from the collections of the National Art Museum of Belarus.
“We are ready to implement the transcontinental project involving Belarus, Poland, Lithuania and Ukraine. Let’s collect all the Radziwiłłs together”, - said Uladzimir Prakaptzou.
According to the director of the National Art Museum of Belarus preliminary settlements have already been made with Lithuania and Poland. It may well be so that this transcontinental project will be realized under the anniversary celebrations in 2014 when the National Art Museum of Belarus celebrates its 75th birthday.
“We will receive quests from Lithuania and Krakow with the presents in the form of presentations. What concerns Ukraine, we share an arrangement about trainings for our experts in this country”,
“The portraits of rulers and magnates of the Grand Dutchy of Lithuania” exhibition will be open up to August 26, 2013.
