Freedom Day is celebrated in Belarus

Today a rally and a demonstration approved by authorities well be held in Minsk.

On this day on March 25 in 1918 the creation of the Belarusian People's Republic (BPR) was announced. The government does not recognize this date officially, but the Belarusan democratic community celebrates in annually as the Freedom Day.

The rally and procession timed to the Freedom Day will take place in Minsk on March 25. This decision the organizing committee made on March 5.

Minsk state authorities forbade to hold a rally along the Independence Avenue. The meeting of the participants is scheduled at 6 p.m., the procession will start moving and at 7.30 p.m. the demonstration is to take place at the People’s Friendship Park.

The main slogans are the protection of independence of Belarus, solidarity with Ukraine in situation of Russian military intervention to Crimea, the release of political prisoners.
