European Bank for Reconstruction and Development subsidizes into Heineken Belarus

European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will give €5 million to the Belarusan branch of the brewing company Heineken N.V.

The money will be spent on the projects aimed at enhancement of barley quality and efficiency of energy use at its enterprises. In addition, a certain part of the funds will be used to equip retail stores throughout the country with "green" fridges, reports BelaPAN.

According to the press office of Heineken Belarus, the funds will come in a €4-million loan for a period of seven years and a €1-million three-year revolving loan facility.

Let us recall that Heineken Belarus currently runs two breweries in the country: Heineken Breweries in Babruisk, acquired in December 2007, and Rechytsapiva in Rechytsa, acquired in May 2008.
