Such preliminary decision was drawn after the session of the round work table at the office of the United Civil Party, which gathered together economists, politicians and entrepreneurs.
Coordinating Committee was already established in Belarus, but its actions were barely noticeable. The events of June-July 2013, such as introduction of the technical regulations for the Customs Union and unrest among entrepreneurs connected with it gave impetus to the restoration of the Coordinating Committee.
Answering the question of the EuroBelarus Information Service about the board of the committee, Iryna Jaskevich, the coordinator of the organization group to form a trade union “Vmeste” (“Together”), noted that the made decision is preliminary and it is too early to talk about it.
- Earlier Coordinating Committee was represented by every region, every big city as well as ordinary active citizens. There were fifteen of us then, but now only third part is participating in the round table. Some people are tired; some see other ways of their participation in the entrepreneurial movement. I do believe that we should restore the work of the committee and I see no problem in including activists, not leaders of sole entrepreneurs’ boards, in its structure. It’s an open secret that the entrepreneurial movement has quite many people that turned from active participants into “big wits”.
According to Jaskevich, at the next meeting of activists devoted to the formation of the Coordinating Committee, “we will discuss those personalities that really represent people. Statuses don’t matter at all, as well as the name of the future organization. What is important is that the necessity for consolidation has appeared, and we’ll try to consolidate. We need clear position, as without responsibility we create nothing but chaos and anarchy”.
