Lukashenka on denomination: People are waiting for it

Denomination in Belarus will be conducted on 1 July 2016. On this day the National Bank has allowed commercial banks to abstain from serving customers.

People are waiting for it. This is important for everyone, - Aliaksandr Lukashenka said as he met with Belarusian Prime Minister Andrei Kabiakou and Chairman of the Board of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus Pavel Kallaur. – Therefore, it is a big event, even from the political point of view. And it should be well organized.

The head of state also noted that the redenomination, which is, probably, considered an unpopular event to a certain extent will take place in the run-up to the parliamentary elections, BelTA informs.

According to Lukashenka, statesmen always think about the prospects and development of the state.

Denomination could have been conducted on 1 January 2017; however, the deadline has been moved forward on 1 July 2016.
