Belarusan Catholics will pray for Ukraine

Roman-Catholic bishops of Belarus called for the believers to spend February 23S fasting and praying for the dead at Maidan.

The priests followed the example of Pope Francis, who announced that this Sunday is the Day of prayer and fast for Ukraine. According to News.va, During the General Audience dedicated to the Sacrament of Reconciliation, which took place of February 19, the Pope launched an appeal for an end to violence in Ukraine. The appeal was made at the end of 19 February Wednesday General Audience in St. Peter's Square. In the appeal Pope Francis urged all parties to “cease all violence” and “to seek harmony and peace throughout the country”.

Let us also note that the sympathizers of Ukraine’s Euromaidan protesters held candlelight ceremony in front of the St. Simon and St. Helena Church (Red Church) in Minsk’s Independence Square, BelaPAN says. About two dozen people expressed solidarity with Ukraine’s protesters and commemorating those killed in clashes in the neighbouring country.
