Last weekend the activists of the ecological movement created a temporary green recreational area.
On a warm Saturday evening on May 17 a new green zone appeared in Minsk. The activists from the “Green network” made a “green” corner In Liberty Square, in Minsk Upper Town. They spread a real lawn right on the sidewalk and invited passerby to take a break and write a letter to their friends, as well as introduced tourists to the diversity of the Belarusan nature.
The idea of such move was very simple – to remind Belarusans and many guests about the importance of preserving our unique nature.
The activists have prepared about 250 postcards with the information about the flora and fauna of Belarus, so that everyone willing could sign a letter to friends and relatives living within and outside Belarus. They organizers of the event promised that the letters will be sent to the addressees.
One more goal of the event is to attract public attention to the problem of decrease of green zones in large cities.
This problem is especially topical in Minsk, where a lot of green zones are being destroyed due to the building of temporary parkings, multistoried and office buildings.
Those who attended the green island also had an opportunity to try vegan sweets, cooked by Veggicake Company.
Next weekend, according to the organizers, the action will be repeated and will bring more surprises.
