BAJ festival in Hlybokaje: Wikipedia, sport, and heat

On August 7-8 not far from Hlybokaje a traditional corporative festival of Belarusian Association of Journalists took place.
A “summer rally” of Belarusian Association of Journalists abounded in events. First the journalists from all over Belarus went to the excursion around Hlybokaje. The Saint Virgin Mary Cathedral got the biggest attention: the guests had a chance not only to visit the basement of the former Carmelites’ monastery, but also to get to its belfry – a place from which the Napoleon once looked at the surroundings.

However, after such cultural and educational program the journalists were offered to describe the sights of the town in the form of the competition. These creative teams wrote 5 articles for the Belarusian Wikipedia about the interesting places and people of Hlybokaje.
In the evening the participants of the BAJ festival listened to Zmicier Vaitsiushkevich’s songs and the Polotsk-Lepel folklore band at the manor.
On Saturday’s morning the journalists were involved in some physical training activities: they were fishing in the local pond, playing darts and volleyball. The only hindrance to that was heat and but for the lake near the manor, it would be much more difficult to stand the weather anomaly.
