Belarusian TV channel won’t be broadcasting Sviatlana Alexievich receiving Nobel Prize

The Belarusian Television- and Radio Company, ONT, and STV channels will not broadcast the 2015 Nobel Prize Awards Ceremony that is to take place at the Stockholm Concert Hall on December 10.

“Belarusian TV never planned to acquire broadcasting rights to broadcasting rights due to a number of organizational, technical, financial and legal issues and aspects.”

ONT and STV channels will not broadcast the awarding ceremony either, their press-secretaries informed.

Belsat TV is the only Belarusian TV channel that is going to televise giving the Nobel Prize to writer Svetlana Alexievich.

Let us recall that on December 10, the Nobel Prize 2015 for achievements in various fields – from medicine to literature – will be awarded in Stockholm and Oslo. The Belarusian writer Sviatlana Alexievich will receive her – and the country’s – first Nobel in the Swedish capital.
