Education Minister calls to be “more aggressive” towards the protesting students

The minister added that “democracy in social networks should not be associated with a complete anarchy”.

“Perhaps, we should be more aggressive. This movement is a closed book, it is supposedly called ‘Students are against!’, but there are no students among his members! We need to think over how to respond to it and what to do,” Education Minister Mihail Zhuraukou said when meeting with members of the National Youth Council of the Ministry of Education.

Zhuraukou also proposed to educate the public on web.

“You see now that there is a total disorder on the Internet, in social media. It is to be put to rights. Such mess and permissiveness that now exist shall not be. We must keep an eye on what is posted there!” – Belsat quotes him saying.

Let us recall that on December 2 a student event called "March of love and solidarity" was held in the center of Minsk. Students opposed the introduction of payment for exam retakes.

They also were supposed to meet with the BSU rector Siarhei Ablameika, but the University website had an announcement about postponement of the event, allegedly in connection with possible provocations.
