Chvastou criticised the work of the Human Rights Council

According to the representative of Belarusan Foreign Ministry, Minsk is ready to help Human Rights Council by submitting annual reports on cases of human rights violations in certain countries.

 At the period of February 25 – March 22, 2013 Belarusan delegation led by the permanent representative of the Republic of Belarus to the local UN office in Geneva Mikhail Chvastou is participating in the 22^nd Session of the UN Human Rights Council, reports the press service of Belarusan Foreign Ministry.

The permanent representative of Belarus stated that our country is ready to facilitate the elimination of the mentioned faults, also by submitting annual reports on cases of human rights violations in certain countries.

Let us recall that first such publication was submitted to the participants of the session, including the representatives of the international NGOs and civil society that show genuine interest to the report of the Belarusan Foreign Ministry. The report was also submitted to the UN High Commissioner on Human Rights Navanethem Pillay as well as to other human rights mechanisms.

As EuroBelarus Information Service reported earlier, last year Belarusan Ministry of foreign Affairs severely criticised the UN Council Resolution on Human Rights dealing with the situation with human rights in our country and refused to cooperate with the Special Rapporteur on human rights to Belarus.
