“Last dictatorship in Europe” is ready to shelter Yanukovich supporters

Official Minsk is ready to provide Yanukovich supporters with political asylum. However, there are no willing to seek the asylum in Belarus.
“Our stance is as follows: if we see that these people are unfairly persecuted for their political beliefs and if they ask political asylum in our country we would provide them with that asylum (…) For now we have no such information, but our stance is unequivocal”. Belarusan Foreign Minister made this statement in the interview with the BNS agency.
Let us recall that earlier Belarus' border control committee said there were no Ukrainian refugees at the border. As the press secretary of the Border Committee Aliaksandr Tsishchanka told Euroradio that there was no tension at the Belarusian-Ukrainian border. However, Tsishchanka also noted that “if the situation worsens and gets out of control, we may consider closing the border. We are monitoring the situation now”, Euroradio quotes him saying.
He said Belarus would likely face economic tightening not only as a result of the coronavirus pandemic but also a Russian trade oil crisis that worsened this past winter.
