Belarus calls upon all political forces of Ukraine to immediately stop the bloodshed

“Belarus is deeply concerned and worried about the recent developments in Ukraine”, claims the Belarusan foreign-policy office.
“The political escalation has led to the open armed confrontation in a number of regions of the country”, is said in the statement published by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus on the Situation in Ukraine on May 3, 2014. “We are particularly concerned with the tragic events in Odessa that resulted in numerous human casualties”.
In the statement, the ministry says that Belarusans “share great sorrow and express our deepest condolences to the bereaved of the victims”.
In relation to that, official Minsk calls “upon all political forces of Ukraine to immediately stop the bloodshed and undertake real steps towards building national dialogue. All parties of the conflict should fully realize their responsibility for the future of Ukraine, and immediately sit down at the negotiating table with their ambitions set aside”.
“We hope for a prompt peaceful resolution of the crisis in Ukraine with the rights and interests of all citizens of the country fully observed”, concludes the statement.
He said Belarus would likely face economic tightening not only as a result of the coronavirus pandemic but also a Russian trade oil crisis that worsened this past winter.
The Belarusan National Platform of the EaP CSF issued a statement in connection with the wave of searches in the editorial offices of the Belarusan media and the detention of journalists.
