Marek Migalski was denied entry to Belarus

A member of the European Parliament was taken off a Warsaw train in Brest.

At night on 12 May, Marek Migalski was stopped in Brest when passengers of the train from Warsaw were passing the border control, human rights centre “Viasna” reports.

As the EuroBelarus Information Service has earlier reported, Marek Migalski was holding a campaign to boycott the world ice hockey championship in Minsk because of political repressions in the country. He had also repeatedly called for boycotting this past February's Sochi Olympics because of what he described as widespread human rights abuse in Russia.

Let us also recall that few days earlier, the head of the Swedish human rights organization Östgruppen Martin Uggla and Emil Andre Erstad and Line Nordhaug, two Norwegian politicians, the leaders of KrFU were banned entering Belarus.
