The border control officials note that during passport controls at the Minsk International Aiport Olexandr Bryhinets, Member of the Supreme Council of Ukraine with a diplomatic passport, was identified as a person on the travel-ban list of people that are not allowed to enter the territory of the Union State of Russia and Belarus. According to the Belarus' Border Control Committee, the list is drawn up by law-enforcement agencies of Belarus and Russia.
The Ukrainian MP spent the night in the transit area of Minsk International Airport. In the morning of July 17, he was put on board Belavia plane that was departing to Kiev, informs Euroradio.
"They are convoying me to the plane in the company of a customs officer, so I will be back to Kyiv in about an hour. Looks like next time I will visit Russia and Belarus when Putin's regime collapses," the politician wrote on his Facebook page at about 8 a.m.
The border guards stressed the MP was not deported. Rather, he was denied entry.
Let us note that Bryhinets was on his way to Russia as part of the Ukraine-Polish delegation that intends to meet with captive Ukrainian female pilot Nadzeya Savchenko and observe her trial in the Russian court.
