Belarusian TV is now banned in Ukraine

Broadcasting of Russian TV channel 365 Days and Belarusian TV channel Belarus 24 has been banned.

The corresponding decision was made on October 15 by the National Council for Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine, informs Interfax-Ukraine.

Council Head Yuriy Artemenko said at a briefing in Kyiv on Wednesday that the decision was made due to the fact that the channels spread news materials that violate the European Convention on Transfrontier Television.

He also said that the council plans to appeal to court asking to ban the broadcasting of the said TV channel on the territory of Ukraine.

At present court hearings against six Russian TV channels are underway in Ukraine.
