The head of Lukashenka’s nominating group claims that the interest towards elections is growing among Belarusans.
More than 500,000 signatures have been collected for nomination of Aliaksandr Lukashenka as a candidate for presidency by his nominating group. This figure was made public chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions Mihail Orda in the comment to the agency BelTA. Subscription lists, he said, have already been sent to the local election commissions. Orda added that the nominating group will continue to work for everyone willing to subscribe.
Second place in the number of collected signatures now holds the nominating group of Siarhei Haidukevich. Its leader, Aleh Haidukevich said that on Thursday, July 30, there has been collected 55 thousand signatures. The next vote count, he said, will be held tomorrow, August 6. Group of Haidukevich plans to hand over 120,000 signatures by August 15.
The nominating group of Viktar Tsiareshchanka said that on August 4 they had more than 52 thousand signatures in support of the applicant. However, this figure, according to team leader Aleh Nestserkau did not include voices in the regions.
About 47 thousand signatures were collected for the leader of the Belarusian Patriotic Party Mikalai Ulahovich. His nominating group expects that the peak of the signatures will come after August 10, when people will actively begin to return from summer leaves.
According to the recent data, for nomination of Tatsiana Karatkevich were collected about 43 thousand signatures. However, the signature sheets to have not yet been handed over to the local election commissions by the group, said its director Andrei Dzmitryeu.
About 30 thousand signatures have been collected for the leader of the United Civil Party Anatoly Liabedzka. The politician said that this figure does not include the signatures collected at people's homes.
Also, about 30 thousand signatures were mentioned by the group of the head of the Belarusian Party of the Left Fair World Siarhei Kaliakin.
Presidential contender Zhanna Ramanouskaya would not disclose the number of collected signatures.
The collection of signatures for nomination of presidential candidates will last until and on 21 August.
