The Belarusan Economic Research and Outreach Center is pleased to announce the enrollment to the Second Student School on Modern Economics which is to take place in Minsk on January, 21-30 2013.
The participants will be introduced to the courses in microeconomics, macroeconomics, and econometrics. Among the lectures there will be BEROC economists who had obtained PhD both from leading Belarusan universities and abroad, as well as a visiting professor Alexander Kovzik, University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh, USA. Working language of the school is English.
Participation in the Student School is free of charge. Moreover, BEROC in cooperation with the British Embassy in Minsk provides a number of full and partial scholarships for students from regional Belarusian universities covering (fully or partially) travel expenses to and from Minsk and accommodation in Minsk.
Participants who haven’t received scholarship, cover the accommodation expenses themselves. BEROC can assist in reservation of the hotel or apartment in Minsk.
Candidates' selection criteria:
full-time graduating student (3-5th year of education) of the Belarusian higher education establishment at the moment of applying;
good command of English (university program for the students of non-philological specialities);
high academic performance (grade point average is not less than 7,5 on a ten-point scale);
specialization in economics is not an obligatory condition for admition to school.
Specialization in economics is not a must for the prospective candidates. BEROC welcomes students of non-economic faculties (especially mathematics and physics departments).
