On May 28 at 5 p.m. a meeting dedicated to the discussion of EIA (Environment impact assessment) of the second runway under construction in the National airport will be held in Smaliavichy.
The report about the EIA (Environment impact assessment) can be found at the webpage of the National Airport Minsk.
Public discussion of the report about EIA of the planned economic activity took place in the period of April 15 – May 14, 2015. However, local citizens weren’t adequately and properly informed about it.
In accordance with the EIA the building of the second runway will directly affect the following built-up areas: Shemetovo village, garden area “Shemetovo-1”, Pekalin village, and Piatiletka village. Besides, both during the construction and during exploitation of the runway the life of local citizens that are living in the nearest built-up areas will be considerably affected; thus, realization of the project decision won’t make it possible to guarantee the normative quality of atmospheric air in Shemetovo village.
“Green Network” Association finds such situation absolutely unacceptable. “Environment impact assessment is elaborated at this very stage of planning and it is now when all possible ways to realize the project should be found or the planned activity should be rejected”, - specialists believe.
We invite everyone interested to take part in a meeting dedicated to the discussion of EIA (Environment impact assessment) of the second runway under construction in the National airport.
Everyone interested can come to an event, including citizens of the adjacent built-up areas.
